Open House 09 - Silverlake
on Equinox, and seeing in-between
Thank you to all who attended Open House 09. We gathered after Fall Equinox, when the hours of the day equal that of the night. Here’s a brief excerpt from our evening:
I wrote during a recent sunset,
“Clear-seeing are the moments between life and death, day and night, work and rest, movement and stillness.”
These moments are brief windows into reality, a gift of seeing all as it is before immersing back into the proverbial cycles of light and dark.
I’ve been committing to watch more sunsets, to guard my waking and sleeping, and honor these kinds of in-between spaces in physical reality. They help us see both sides and be reminded where we exist in it all. A reminder that all is working together, all is in harmony, even when we’re immersed in the highs and lows, opposites and tensions of physical living. A deep, deep comfort… this knowing is home.
